About Us

Fayette Savings Bank SSB has once again earned its Top (5-Star) Rating for financial strength and stability. Having earned Bauer’s 5-Star rating for 10 (or more) consecutive years, Fayette Savings Bank has earned an even higher designation as an “Exceptional Performance Bank”. This marks Fayette Savings Bank’s 70th consecutive 5-Star rating.

Bauer rates every federally-insured U.S. chartered bank with the same strict standards, and is pleased to report that Fayette Savings Bank continues to outperform its peers. What does it mean when we say, “like having a friend in the banking business?”, muses Karen Dorway, president of BauerFinancial. “It means loyalty and dedication. It’s a connection, one that you can rarely find in a big bank. But at Fayette Savings Bank, it comes naturally. Not to mention”, she continues, “a local bank means local decisions, made by people just like you.”

Since its inception in 1978, Fayette Savings Bank has been an enthusiastic supporter of the people and organizations in the communities it serves, which is also where its employees live, work and play. A dedicated banking partner, yes, but so much more. Supporting the community is what it does, and what it has done for 46 years. This community-focused bank wouldn’t have it any other way.

Fayette County Savings & Loan Association was organized in October of 1976. By March of 1977, all of the necessary stock was sold and Fayette County Savings & Loan Association was chartered on December 31, 1977. Insurance of accounts was obtained on August 28, 1978, and Fayette County Savings & Loan Association opened for business on October 2, 1978. On July 21,1998, the charter was changed to a State Savings Bank and our name was changed to Fayette Savings Bank, ssb.

The purpose of Fayette Savings Bank is to have and provide a locally owned and operated financial institution. Fayette Savings Bank has made a commitment to the communities it serves to offer a wide range of services with long range goals in mind. Fayette Savings Bank is committed to providing a sound, diversified, long-term, profitable organization for its stockholders, customers, and the communities it serves.

Fayette Savings Bank is not a mortgage banker; we feel that if a loan is worth making, it is worth keeping.  We give our customers  an option of whether they would prefer an “in-house” loan or a secondary market loan.  We offer a wide range of complete financial services to help customers with all of their financial needs.
